Nik Whitcomb is a lifelong artist whose work is centered around creating equitable and bold spaces in which creative exploration and community gathering can take place with people from all walks of life. He is currently the Producing Artistic Director of Bag&Baggage Productions (B&B), the only professional theatre in Hillsboro, OR and an anchor organization of Historic Downtown Hillsboro and the Cultural Arts District.
Nik was born and raised in Omaha, NE and has worked with theatrical institutions of all sizes on stage, backstage, in the office, and in various leadership roles. Prior to B&B he was the Program Director for the Black Theatre Coalition in NYC and placed over 30 BIPOC Fellows and Apprentices in offstage positions on Broadway productions. Nik is continues his work in program management as the lead facilitator for the Inner Peace Corps with OK You where he is also on the Advisory Council and frequently leads adult trainings with OK You Founder Kathleen Lane.
Nik is a board member at Oregon Children's Theatre, a member of the Community Engagement Committee for the Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan, and is the current Secretary for the Black Advisory Business Council of Washington County, OR. He is an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and was named a "Theatre Worker You Should Know" by American Theatre Magazine in April of 2020.
